Police Hunt For Kamani Brothers East African Standard 04 April 2006 Page: 40
Detectives pursuing two brothers in connection with the Anglo Leasing scam say they have good leads on their whereabouts.
The officers said they may arrest Deepak Kamani and Rashmi Kamani on Tuesday. "We have good leads that may make them show up or they be arrested," said an officer. Several people had reportedly called the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (Kacc) and others sent e-mails giving information on where the brothers could be found.
The tempo of the anti-graft war rose when Kacc put a bounty of Sh100,000 on the heads of Deepak and Rashmi. Kacc published their pictures on Monday, seeking public assistance to question them over corruption allegations.
The commission says the two are implicated in the Anglo Leasing scam and security-related contracts. To date, the country has not been told who the directors of Anglo Leasing were and the Government officials who formally approved the contract.
